The Province of Guimaras, through the Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO), in partnership with the Municipality of Jordan and the Guimaras Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (GICCII), successfully conducted the Business Forum 2025 on the 30th of October, 2025, at the Function Hall of GTIC Building, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
The program began with preliminaries and a Welcome Remarks and Presentation of Activity Rationale delivered by Mr. Sanie D. Ong, President of GICCII, followed by an Opening Message from Atty. Jobert Penaflorida, Governor of PCCI Visayas.
Mr. Francisco E. Gentoral, Provincial Economic Development Officer, presented the Guimaras Economic Situationer, providing an overview of the province’s economic performance and investment prospects.
The forum also featured an Inspirational Message from Hon. Atty. John Edward G. Gando, Mayor of the Municipality of Jordan, who emphasized the municipality’s commitment to supporting local businesses and shared exciting upcoming projects and initiatives that will further drive Jordan’s economic growth and development.
During the Ease of Doing Business Forum Proper, discussions centered on key local ordinances and business-related services led by Engr. Angelo Galaura, Business Permit & Licensing Officer of Jordan.
Representatives from National Government Agencies — including the Anti-Red Tape Authority, DTI Guimaras, DOLE Guimaras, and DICT Guimaras — also presented their programs and services that promote efficiency and accessibility in doing business.
A message of support was also delivered by Hon. Marilyn G. Edang, SP Member/Chairperson, Committee on Trade and Industry, who expressed the provincial government’s continued dedication to fostering a strong and inclusive business environment.
In the afternoon, the Financial Literacy Forum featured Mr. Sanie D. Ong with a session on Business Financial Management Education 101, followed by presentations from BDO, Landbank, and Producers Bank on available Business Financial Windows to help entrepreneurs expand their ventures.
The Business Forum 2025 served as a meaningful venue for collaboration between the government and the business sector — fostering knowledge sharing, innovation, and sustainable economic growth in the island province.
