Earlier today, September 9, 2025, stakeholders gathered at the Guimaras Trade and Information Center (GTIC) Board Room in the Province of Guimaras for the Consultative Meeting on the RISE Expansion Pilot Project implementation in Guimaras. This proposed project will be implemented in the municipality of San Lorenzo with the San Lorenzo Vegetable Growers Association as the direct project implementer and project recipient.
The RISE Program, launched in October 2023, is one of the DILGโs flagship program initiatives in strengthening Local Economic Development (LED) through partnerships with local governments, national government agencies, and local resource institutes (LRIs).
The activity highlighted the proposed RISE expansion project in Guimaras by DILG, the presentation of the draft Memorandum of Agreement, and an open discussion with the participants and ways forward to further strengthen collaboration in this pilot implementation.
This will be a three-year development project and the whole process will be documented to establish a pilot LED business model for possible replication in other LGUs.
