𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘) 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘀

Earlier today, September 9, 2025, stakeholders gathered at the Guimaras Trade and Information Center (GTIC) Board Room in the Province of Guimaras for the Consultative Meeting on the RISE Expansion Pilot Project implementation in Guimaras. This proposed project will be implemented in the municipality of San Lorenzo with the San Lorenzo Vegetable Growers Association as the direct project implementer and project recipient.

The RISE Program, launched in October 2023, is one of the DILG’s flagship program initiatives in strengthening Local Economic Development (LED) through partnerships with local governments, national government agencies, and local resource institutes (LRIs).

The activity highlighted the proposed RISE expansion project in Guimaras by DILG, the presentation of the draft Memorandum of Agreement, and an open discussion with the participants and ways forward to further strengthen collaboration in this pilot implementation.

This will be a three-year development project and the whole process will be documented to establish a pilot LED business model for possible replication in other LGUs.

Lynette Urquiloa and Mr. Vincent Albert Aaron Andaya, Guimaras State University representative Ms. Daisy Ibieza, and POAS representative Mr. Joseph Velagio, Municipal Agriculturist Ms. Caroline Brasileńo, and the partner beneficiaries from San Roque Vegetable Growers Association (SLOVEGA) for their active participation and valuable contributions to the success of today’s activity.

Together, let us move forward for a more enhanced local enterprise development in Guimaras.
