GUIMARAS, PHILIPPINES – April 6, 2026 – The provincial government of Guimaras, through the Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), successfully concluded the two-day SEAL-SEGA Trade Fair today at The Pitstop Hotel. The event, which ran from March 26 to 27, 2026, brought together local entrepreneurs, government agencies, and private sector partners in a unified celebration of Guimarasnon enterprise.
The trade fair featured 38 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) showcasing a vibrant array of products and services, including local delicacies, fresh farm produce, artisanal salt, premium coffee, and travel packages. Each booth highlighted the island’s rich cultural heritage, abundant natural resources, and the high caliber of its local entrepreneurs.

Guimaras Champions Recognized with Cash Grants
A key highlight of the event was the formal recognition of 20 MSMEs who were awarded cash grants through a collaborative initiative by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), BPI Foundation, and the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC). The grant awardees were honored for their commitment to growth, innovation, and business excellence, underscoring the power of public-private partnerships in nurturing the province’s business community.

Provincial Government Affirms Support for Collaborative MSME Development
The provincial government, through PEDO, expressed its full support for such multi-sectoral collaborations, citing them as essential to sustainable local economic development. Officials emphasized that partnerships between government agencies, financial institutions, and training centers create a robust ecosystem where MSMEs can thrive, innovate, and compete in broader markets.

“These collaborations are not just beneficial—they are necessary,” said a representative from PEDO. “The provincial government fully supports initiatives that bring together organizations like DTI, BPI Foundation, and PTTC. Together, we can provide our local entrepreneurs with the capital, skills, and market access they need to succeed.”
By championing homegrown businesses and fostering strategic alliances, the provincial government aims to stimulate inclusive economic growth and create sustainable livelihoods across Guimaras.
The public is encouraged to continue supporting local MSMEs beyond the trade fair by patronizing Guimaras products and services available year-round.
