February 13, 2024 – The Cooperative Section of the Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO) organized a comprehensive training workshop focusing on the Fundamentals of Cooperative, in adherence to the regulatory requirements stipulated by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). The 8-hour training, welcomed participants from the Guimaras Eco-Tourism Farm Owners and Operators Agriculture Cooperative – A Micro-Cooperative.
This intensive workshop aimed to furnish participants with an understanding of cooperative principles and practices. Throughout the session, attendees actively engaged in discussions on the crucial legal frameworks underpinning cooperative operations. Moreover, the training facilitated opportunities for participants to develop strategic plans, programs, and policies adapted to their respective organizational needs.
At the end of the training, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to expound cooperative fundamentals, legal intricacies, and formulate organizational strategies effectively.
The initiative underscores PEDO’s commitment to fostering a strong cooperative ecosystem in Guimaras, aligning with broader efforts to promote and enhance resilience and efficacy of cooperative enterprises, thereby contributing to the overall socioeconomic development of the province.
