The Province of Guimaras has been named the Most Competitive Province in Western Visayas in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI), ranking 1st in the region. The CMCI serves as one of the outcome indicators of Kabataan FIRST agenda and reflects our commitment to building a dynamic and resilient economy, investing in essential infrastructure, and fostering a thriving environment for all Guimarasnons, especially the youth.
This victory belongs to the entire Province of Guimaras, led by Honorable JC Rahman A. Nava, MD, Congresswoman Ma. Lucille Nava, MD, Vice Governor Atty, John Edward G. Gando, the 10th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and the esteemed Municipal Mayors of Buenavista, Jordan, Nueva Valencia, Sibunag, and San Lorenzo.
Together, we have demonstrated that collaboration between our local governments and national agencies can make guimaras more competitive through the Kabataan FIRST agenda.
The CMCI Awards, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry VI, were held at the Iloilo City Convention Center on November 4, 2024.
