The Province of Guimaras is taking a significant leap forward in tourism management with the presentation of the Integrated Data for Economic Data Management System (IDEAMS) on July 30, 2024 at Edith 1945 by Caza, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
Developed by Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU) in partnership with the Provincial Economic Development Office, IDEAMS is an innovative digital dashboard designed to streamline data collection and analysis for the tourism sector.
During the presentation to municipal tourism officers and accommodation establishment representatives, the system was unveiled as a dynamic tool capable of real-time data input from the province, municipalities, and businesses. IDEAMS provides a comprehensive overview of the tourism landscape, including tourist arrivals, revenue, expenditure, occupancy rates, length of stay, employment, and market demographics.
By utilizing a Geographic Information System (GIS) platform, IDEAMS offers a visual representation of economic, governance, and environmental factors influencing the tourism industry. This powerful tool will empower decision-makers to make data-driven decisions, optimize resource allocation, and enhance the overall tourism experience in Guimaras.
