Organized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Regional Office VI, the annual search for the Best PESO aims to acknowledge and honor outstanding Public Employment Service Offices in the region for their exceptional contributions in providing employment services, labor market information, job facilitation, and other employment-related support.
Regional Grand Winners received a Plaque and/or Certificate of Recognition during the 2023 PESO Awards held at Zuri Hotel, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, last March 19, 2024.
The Public Employment Service Office of Guimaras won the following awards under the Provincial Category:
- Best Career Guidance and Employment Coaching (CGEC) Implementer 2023 Regional Grand Winner (3rd Class Province)
- Most number of Job Vacancies Solicited Regional Grand Winner (3rd Class Province)
- Most number of Applicants Registered Regional Grand Winner (3rd Class Province)
- Most number of Applicants Referred Regional Grand Winner (3rd Class Province)
- Most number of Applicants Placed Regional Grand Winner (3rd Class Province)
- Most number of DOLE Programs Implemented Regional Grand Winner (3rd Class Province)
Meanwhile, two municipalities in the province received awards under the Municipality Category. PESO Sibunag won as the Best CLPEP Implementer Regional Grand Winner (in all categories), and PESO Jordan won as the Best DILP Implementer 2023 Regional Grand Winner (in all categories).
The Child Labor Prevention & Elimination Program is a program of the Department of Labor and Employment that identifies and validates the presence of child labor incidence in the identified areas and ensures that all profiled child laborers will be provided with the necessary intervention and services to remove them from child labor.
On the other hand, the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program provides grant assistance for capacity-building on livelihood and entrepreneurial ventures for vulnerable and marginalized workers.
