The Province of Guimaras has been named the Most Competitive Province in Western Visayas in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI), ranking 1st in the region.
The CMCI, an annual ranking system for Philippine cities and municipalities, has been evaluating local government units (LGUs) since 2012. It assesses how well cities and municipalities perform based on the five key pillars: government efficiency, economic dynamism, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.
Meanwhile, the following LGUs earned the Most Competitive title under the Economic Dynamism pillar: the Municipality of Jordan secured 2nd place in the Most Competitive 3rd-4th Class Municipality category, and the Municipality of San Lorenzo claimed 1st place in the Most Competitive 5th-6th Class Municipality category.
These awards show the strong commitment of the Provincial Government and Local Government Units (LGUs) to continuous development and innovation.
