Now on its 30th year, Manggahan Festival is having its sweet comeback after being in hiatus for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The month-long festivities kicked off with a grand caravan where delegates coming from the five municipalities of the province converged to the Provincial Capitol grounds.
“Imbukada” was also highlighted by the opening of the Agri-Fishery Eco-Tourism Expo where 79 local producers and entrepreneurs gathered to showcase their products.
Also on display are other produce of Guimaras and popular destinations in the province.
Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD; Congresswoman Ma. Lucille L. Nava, MD; and Vice Governor Atty. John Edward G. Gando together with the five mayors of the municipalities led the cutting of ribbon to open the expo.
The governor then officially open the annual festival dubbed as the sweetest in the country as it features the sought-after mangoes of Guimaras.
