Hundreds of coconut farmers from the 5 municipalities of Guimaras celebrate Coconut Farmer’s Day at the Provincial Capitol Grounds last May 7, 2024. The day kicks off with insightful presentations on the current state of the industry and future plans. Interactive demos on how to make coconut by-products engaged the farmers, and exciting contests and games such as Coco-composo and Binalaybay puts the whole event in a festive mood.
As a premier Agri Festival, Manggahan 2024 does not only focus on Mangoes but other agricultural crops such as Coconut– the second largest produce of the province next to Palay. As one of the #ManggadsangGuimaras, the province recognizes the coconut’s importance and value to the economy, livelihood, and social equity to coconut farmers and the entire Guimarasnons!
