Ocular Visit of COOP NATCCO Partylist Representative to Guimaras Coops

Last January 13, 2023, the Honorable Felimon Espares of COOP NATCCO Partylist visited five different cooperatives in Guimaras. The purpose of his visit was to verify and evaluate the financial health and operational efficiency of each cooperative. The cooperatives visited were: Mabini Limers and Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Buenavista Development Cooperative, Tinadtaran- Pina-Agsanayan-San Roque Agrarian Reform Cooperative, Guimaras Seed Growers Multi- Purpose Cooperative and Nueva Valencia Multi- Purpose Cooperative.

Various issues and concerns were raised during the visit, including the improvement of the lime processing plant, MARINA rulings for the use of Steel Hulled Boat after the August 3 Sea Tragedy, and MARINA rulings that may change if a new director is assigned.

Other concerns included the availability of COOP NATCCO Fund for member hospitalization, full implementation of chicken production, distribution of products, additional capitalization, farm implements and the construction of livelihood infrastructure support.

To address these concerns, recommendations were made to continue capital formation, link with government agencies for funds, submit proposals, and prepare a communication letter to MARINA on behalf of COOP NATCCO Partylist.
