The Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO) Cooperative Development Section successfully held a Bookkeeping and Accounting for Non-Accountants Training on July 24-25, 2024, at the Provincial General Services Office Conference Room.
The training welcomed officers from various cooperatives and associations, including Alegria Multi-Purpose Cooperative (AMPC), Sibunag Farmers Guild Agriculture Cooperative (SIFAG ACO), Guimaras Operators and Drivers Transport Cooperative (GODTC), and others. These groups were selected based on a community-based organization assessment by PEDO.
The training aimed to help participants understand the importance of accurate and complete financial records. It provided them with the skills to record transactions and prepare necessary reports, focusing on sectors like agriculture, fishery, and tourism—key economic drivers of our province.
Over the two days, 25 participants gained practical skills and insights. They practiced recording transactions and updating financial records. The training’s effectiveness was evident: 13 participants passed the pre-test, and all 25 passed the post-test, with 9 achieving perfect scores and 7 missing only one question.
Congratulations to all participants for their hard work and success!
