PEDO Labor and Employment Section engaged 527 Grade 10 and 12 learners from Cabalagnan National High School and TVC-Sta. Teresa National High School during back-to-back Career Fiesta events on February 21 and 24, 2025. The sessions, part of the Department of Education’s Career Guidance Advocacy Program (CGAP), aimed to equip students with insights into labor market trends and emerging opportunities to inform their career decisions.

Resource speakers from diverse sectors outlined factors shaping career choices, including personal circumstances, family influences, industry demands, and national development goals. They highlighted Guimaras’ thriving tourism, agriculture, and fisheries sectors, while also spotlighting upcoming opportunities in healthcare (driven by upgrades at Dr. Catalino G. Nava Medical Center) and construction (linked to the Panay-Negros-Guimaras Bridge project and Wind Farm Projects). These initiatives aim to empower students to align their skills with local and national growth areas for future success.
