Roca Encantada

One of Guimaras’ renowned landmarks stands atop a hill—a summer residence belonging to the Lopez Clan, famously known as Roca Encantada or “Enchanted Rock.” Erected in 1910 to honor Dona Presentacion Hofilena Lopez, this house, despite its modern facade, is classified as a “heritage house” by the National Heritage Institute.

Perched on high, Roca Encantada’s majestic verandas provide a captivating vista of the beachfront and the Iloilo Strait, with “La Islas de Siete Picados” visible not far from its shores.

Found in Buenavista town, Guimaras, reaching Roca Encantada involves a 15-minute journey from Parola, Iloilo City, to McArthur’s Wharf, where visitors can arrange transportation via the Tourist Assistance Center. From McArthur’s Wharf, it’s an additional 45-minute trip to reach Roca Encantada.
