The Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO) led the meeting of the Guimaras Food Producers Inc. (GFPI) last July 7, 2026 at the GTIC Innovation Hub, bringing together local food producers and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to discuss updates, plans, and pressing concerns for the industry.
Agenda items included updates from GFPI, plans for 2026-2027, and current issues and concerns facing local food producers. Discussions also covered membership status, mislabeling of products, packaging and branding support, and pricing concerns — issues directly affecting the marketability and integrity of Guimaras-made food products.
Members also tackled the planned launch of GFPI’s official social media platforms, improvements to the GTIC Hub’s showroom, and making the Hub more appealing to tourists.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment among GFPI, PEDO, and DTI to address these concerns collaboratively, improve product standards, and support the continued growth of Guimaras’ food production sector.
