On June 7, 2024, at SM City Iloilo, the Provincial Government of Guimaras was honored as one of the recipients of the 2024 Migrant Workers’ Day Award.
Migrant Workers’ Day is an annual event dedicated to honoring the ongoing protection of the rights and welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), recognizing their significant contributions to the Philippine economy as outlined in Republic Act 8042, also known as the Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995.
Province of Guimaras was presented with a Plaque of Recognition for its exemplary commitment and dedication to implementing programs and services aimed at promoting and safeguarding the welfare and interests of Overseas Filipino Workers and their families in Guimaras.
