The Provincial Economic Development Office recently facilitated a strategic planning meeting aimed at converting the Provincial Training and Enterprise Development Center (PTEDC) into a Local Economic Enterprise. The expansion of PTEDC hopes to bolster local workforce competitiveness and foster enterprise development in the province.
Held at the PGSO Conference Room on July 22, 2024, the meeting brought together representatives from Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Governor’s Office, Provincial Planning and Development Office, Provincial Office for Agricultural Services, Provincial Budget Office, Provincial Accounting Office, Provincial General Services Office, Provincial Human Resource Management and Development Office, and key sectors in business, tourism, agriculture, health, like Guimaras Island Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GICCI), Guimaras Resorts and Lodging Association (GRLA), Guimaras Food Business and Caterers Association (GFBCA), and Dr. Catalino Gallego Nava Provincial Hospital (DCGNPH) to strategize and align on the PTEDC vision for the upcoming years.
The discussion centered on assessing the current state of PTEDC, understanding stakeholder needs, market demands, and trends. The goal is to position PTEDC as a Center of Excellence in training programs.
This strategic planning resulted in the creation of a new PTEDC Vision, Mission, and Values Statement, the establishment of objectives and goals, a thorough gaps analysis, the formation of public-private partnerships, and the expansion of market and course offerings.
Through collaborative sessions and in-depth discussions, we strategized on updating PTEDC’s structure and facilities, expanding course offerings, and establishing valuable partnerships to enhance the effectiveness and relevance of our training programs.
Stay tuned for more updates as we work together to strengthen our local economy and workforce!
