student-beneficiaries completed their engagement in the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES)

At least 188 student-beneficiaries completed their engagement in the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) with a culminating activity and pay-out at the GTIC Function Hall in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.

The event, led by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO) in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), celebrated the students’ successful completion of the program. SPES is a initiative that helps underprivileged students continue their education through part-time employment.

The program featured a career coaching session from Mr. Kenneth Jun Eusebio of DOLE Guimaras, followed by an introduction to the Kabataan FIRST Job Portal by Mr. Ruel Benliro of Mulave Studios.

A former SPES beneficiary, Mr. Jan Vincent Ganila, shared a powerful testimonial, reflecting that the program is “more than just a salary—it’s experience, confidence, and hope.” He encouraged fellow students to seize every opportunity and trust that hard work pays off.

The event concluded with a message from SK President Hon. Hannah Callejas, who urged the beneficiaries to maximize the support they received and to remain dedicated to their studies.

Today’s pay-out reaffirms the commitment of the Provincial Government of Guimaras and its partners to empowering youth through education and employment under the Kabataan FIRST 2.0 agenda of Governor Ma. Lucille L. Nava, MD.

We look forward to empowering more Guimarasnon students through the continued implementation of the SPES program!
