Jordan, Guimaras — Women members of the Integrated Women Alliance of Guimaras (IWAG) from 48 barangays completed a five-day Entrepreneurial Development Training organized by the Guimaras Provincial Government’s Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO) in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on June 9–11 and June 16–17, 2026, at the GTIC Function Hall, San Miguel, Jordan.
Ninety-six IWAG participants gained practical skills to grow community-based, women-led enterprises:



Business Planning for Women Entrepreneurs: Ms. Angela Castor of PITCH Consultancy guided participants through opportunity identification, customer analysis, strategic marketing, business model development, and value chain analysis. Each women’s group produced a Business Model Canvas tailored to local market needs.



Financial Literacy & Management for Women Groups: DTI Consultant Mrs. Rodelin Malones led sessions on bookkeeping, costing and pricing, financial planning and reporting, operations management, and organizational development to strengthen financial control and operational capacity of women-led enterprises.
Outcomes and goals
The training equips IWAG women with entrepreneurial and financial competencies to:
Build sustainable livelihoods and increase household incomes
Strengthen the viability of women-led community enterprises
Stimulate inclusive local economic growth and resilience
