Coordination Meeting Strengthens Collaboration and Advances Investment Promotion in Guimaras

August 20, 2026 | The Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO) convened municipal Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Officers, Municipal Agriculturists and Project leaders of the POAS and PEDO staff for a coordination meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration, promoting investments, and advancing agri-fishery investments and support services.

The meeting focused on five key areas:

✅ Guimaras Agri-Fishery Roadmap 2026–2034 – A strategic framework for developing the province’s agriculture and fisheries sectors by aligning programs, projects, and investments with Guimaras’ long-term development goals.

✅ Investment Opportunities in Agri-Fisheries – Identification of potential areas for public and private investment to increase production, enhance processing and value addition, and expand market opportunities.

✅ Local Investments and Incentives Code (LIIC) Provisions – Review of the incentives, assistance, and support mechanisms available to investors in the province.

✅ PEDO Profile, Programs, and Services – Presentation of PEDO’s mandate, programs, and services for investors, entrepreneurs, local government units, and other stakeholders.

✅ Creation of Municipal Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO) Teams – Strengthening coordination between the municipalities and PEDO to ensure more effective, consistent, and responsive local economic development and investment promotion initiatives.

Through these efforts, Guimaras continues to advance a resilient, competitive, and thriving agri-fishery sector while creating sustainable opportunities for Guimarasnons.
